A drover is a person who takes livestock "on the
hoof" over long distances, see droving and Drover
(Australian). Drover can also refer to:
- Drovers' road
- Drover's caboose, a carriage attached to livestock trains in the American southwest
- Drovers Magazine, an American magazine about the livestock industry
- DHA-3 Drover, an Australian-built three-engined light transport aircraft
"Drover" is also used in reference to a type of
dog. A drover dog is similar to a herding dog. While herding dogs
are used primarily to keep a herd together and/or moved from field
to field, drovers are used to "drive" the herd to market and
protect them. One example of a dog used for this purpose is the
Rottweiler.
