Extensive Definition
A bun is a small, sweet cake, which may sometimes be
referred to as a cupcake
or a fairycake. They
are commonly sponge cakes, but can be made in a variety of
flavours, such as chocolate, vanilla or lemon. Basic buns are made
using flour, sugar, eggs and Butter, but the
sponge mixture may be flavoured before baking using cocoa or other
flavourings. The mixture is then separated into bun tins and cooked
for about 15mins.The buns may then be decorated and iced in a
similar way to larger cakes. "Bun" can also refer to a kind of
filled dumpling, such as Chinese baozi.
